Mehndi
How to Plan a Mehndi at Home in Brampton or Vaughan
February 15, 2026 · 5 min read · Toronto
Mehndi nights are intimate and vibrant. They photograph well when the lighting is warm, the florals are heavy, and the stage is just elevated enough to feel like a stage without dominating the room.
Start with the stage. A low platform with a draped backdrop in marigold yellow, deep orange, or hot pink works beautifully. We add hanging florals around a swing or a single seat for the bride. Garlands of marigolds or roses around the perimeter complete the picture.
Floor seating matters. Lay out a base layer of carpet or rugs, add floor pillows around low tables, and dot fresh florals throughout. Guests should be able to sit, eat, and move around without rearranging the entire space.
Light the room warmly. Mehndi nights live or die by the lighting. Fairy lights overhead, a few warm uplights against the drape, and battery candles on every table. Avoid overhead fluorescent or daylight LED at all costs.
Food stations and dessert. A long table with traditional sweets, fresh fruit, and tea service. Add a small floral runner and a custom sign in script lettering. The food table should photograph as well as the stage.
Most Mehndi nights in the GTA happen at home. Home setups need careful planning around power, flooring, and clearance between the stage and the seating. We typically install in three to four hours and tear down in under two.
